Route 7 Review
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Route 7 Review, established in 2013 and published by Utah Tech University, has been in circulation for more than a decade. Published annually, the journal welcomes submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art from writers and artists residing anywhere in the world.
Our submission period runs from Monday, September 21 - Monday, November 2 at 11:59 p.m. (MST)
- We only accept submissions through Submittable.
- We do not accept previously published work, regardless of format or circulation.
- Upon publication, all rights will revert back to the author.
- We accept simultaneous submissions as long as you withdraw your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please use the Submittable "withdraw" function to withdraw entire submissions or individual pieces.
- We do not charge a submission fee and are a non-paying market.
- Please include a third-person biographical note of 75 words or fewer with your submission. We will include it in our publication should we accept your work.
- Route 7 Review contributors will receive an email when their work is published on our website www.r7review.com.
- All submissions will receive notice of acceptance or decline by Monday, December 15, 2026.
We will NOT publish:
- Any written work that is over the word limit for that specific genre.
- ANY work generated entirely or in part with ChatGPT or other AI.
All written submissions should be formatted according to the following guidelines:
- 12 pt. Times New Roman font
- One-inch margins
- Double-spaced for prose
- Submit .doc, .docx, or .pdf file
Our submissions are currently capped at 300 per month across all genres, at which point we close until the next month. If there are no open calls for submissions during an open reading period, we have reached our cap and will reopen the first day of the next month.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to read your work. We look forward to reviewing it!
